5 out of 5 stars Great reference books   January 11, 2010
Marti L. Wheat (Jersey City, NJ USA)
As an avid scuba diver, I couldn't ask for a better guide to the joys and mysteries of the underwater world than Paul Humann and Ned DeLoach's The Reef Set: Reef Fish, Reef Creature and Reef Coral.

Each book in the set goes into incredible detail on the various stages of development for each species, as well as providing beautiful photographs and the scientific name. After each dive, my buddies and I enjoy sitting down with the Reef Set and identifying and logging the various fish, reef creatures and coral we saw. They are terrific tools for furthering diver education and obtaining the Fish Identification Speciality Certification. In addition, the coral book was invaluable in helping me identify the exact species of fire coral I knelt on while taking photographs in Roatan...

I routinely give this set as a gift to fellow divers and snorklers, so they can expand their knowledge and their enjoyment of the underwater world. I highly recommend these books.

4 out of 5 stars Caribbean reaf life   August 14, 2009
Captain Wiks (New Mexico)
We love to dive and now we have a comprehensive source to identify all of our "discoveries". We have looked at these boos at dive shops and they want $39 per book. The three piece set was $75. We have enjoyed it

5 out of 5 stars Increadible Box Set   March 14, 2009
Nelson G. Usry (St. Louis, Mo)
The is the wildlife bible for scuba divers and fishermen in the Caribbean and Atlantic. I can't say much more than had already been said. The box set is very worth the money, and you will spend countless hours reading through these books.

4 out of 5 stars Buyer Beware   February 14, 2009
TX Reader
These are awesome books. My friend has them. I recently ordered a VINYL BOUND set from Amazon. They arrived as PLASTIC COATED PAPER BACKS, even though my Amazon receipt stated vinyl bound. I have returned them. I am trying once more to order the vinyl bound set. However now, half way through the ordering process, VINYL BOUND disappears from the description. These books are not cheap, and for a diver who wants to take them on location, being vinyl bound is a must. Come on Amazon! You can do better than this!

5 out of 5 stars Great Research Books   January 20, 2009

They used to have this in a "spiral" bound set,
which was much easier to use. Plus it made it
easier to throw in your suitcase for trips.
We had a spiral bound set that we took on all
of our diving trips. This one weighs heavier
and very cumbersome to travel with.

However, a great resource for research.
Also, has many more pages of information
than the spiral bound.

Great for divers, teachers, artists, etc.
