Amazon.com Product Description
Looking for an easy-to-use, lightweight traction device for your shoes? Turn to the spikeless Yaktrax Walker traction cleats, which offer 10 times the gripping points as any spike-based traction device. Ideal for pedestrians, the elderly, businesspeople, or anyone else who wants greater stability on ice and snow, the Yaktrax Walkers are terrific for walking to and from work, school, or even the mailbox down the street. (Mountain climbers should consider the Yaktrax Pro cleats, which are designed for more arduous conditions.)

Each Yaktrax Walker is made out of an injection-molded thermal plastic elastomer that's lightweight yet durable. The coils are also protected against rusting, with a hand-wound design that provides 360 degrees of traction on ice and snow. Every step you take in the Yaktrax Walker places hundreds of biting edges in direct contact with the ice beneath your feet, with the high-strength horizontal coils providing forward and backward stability while the vertical coil pattern provides side-to-side stability. And thanks to the sturdy outerband--which conforms to the length and width of your boot or shoe--the cleats fit securely throughout the day but slip off in an instant.

Suitable for temperatures as low as -41 degrees F, the Yaktrax Walkers have been approved and recommended by the National Health & Wellness Club and the Handyman Club of America. The Yaktrax Walkers are available in extra-small, small, medium, and large sizes.

5 out of 5 stars Always sure footing on ice covered walkways using Yaktrax!   November 14, 2009
Deborah J. Gasior
I keep a pair of Yaktrax in my car "just in case" to have sure footing
on ice covered walkways! Highly recommend for all ages!

4 out of 5 stars Excellent on icy trails   September 24, 2009
Sarah Sarah (New Jersey)
I have a big dog and need to hit the trails every, day rain or shine. These cleats proved very helpful in winter months. They have great grip on icy terrain, even steep and icy hiking trail. My only problem was that they were a little hard to pull on over my boots. Not as hard as the pro-version, but still hard. Because I had troubles pulling them over the lip of a boot, I lost one a few times on a trail and had to go back to find it. I may try a larger size next winter to see if it's easier to pull and if they still stay put.

5 out of 5 stars Great For Ice Fishing Too   April 17, 2009

Snow tires for your feet! These things are excellent for ice and hard packed snow. Like most of the country, we've been having an unconventional winter with lots of snow and ice. After dangerously slipping around our hilly neighborhood through our first winter blast, we purchased a pair of YakTrax to try out in time for the next major storm. After walking around in them for the day, we clearly will be keeping a pair of these traction devices handy for the whole family in the future. We did not have one incident where we lost traction.

There is not a lot of ice fishing opportunities in our part of the country, but we can see these devices being a welcome addition to any ice fishermen must have list of winter accessories. We guarantee they will save you a slip on your tail end in icy conditions out on the lake, as well as on solid ground.

4 out of 5 stars Slippery? Not anymore.   April 7, 2009

I slip on the ice all the time. But with my new Yaktrax I can walk over the ice with confidence. I love my Yaktrax and won't walk on the ice without them. The downsides are that they must fit your boot tightly making them a little tough to put on. And they come off when I walk through snow that's more than an inch deep. But even with these downsides I'd never be without and would recommend them.

4 out of 5 stars Essential for winter running   April 2, 2009
K. Ryan
These are essential for winter running on ice. The only problem is that if you end up running on too much snow, it will bunch up beneath your feet and make them pretty useless. They definitely give you traction on ice though, so they are great for preventing injury.
