As I write this review, the product description is almost non-existent. You can read it on Ariat's website, though. I have these in Brown. The smooth leather is a little dressier looking; that's what I wanted. The photo is a good representation. I bought my regular shoe size and they fit fine. They're pretty comfortable, and there's lots of room in the toebox. They're close to 2" in the heel, and about 3/4" at the arch. The uppers are flexible leather. The sole is not flexible. I usually wear sneakers, but found these easy to adapt to. They're a stable shoe to walk in; they feel almost flat. The brown could be worn with jeans, trousers, slacks, even a casual suit or dress. I've received many compliments on these shoes. I'd give them 5 stars, but the insole isn't great. It's a gel-type insole, but it provides almost no cushion or support. Still, I'm a "tenderfoot," and I think they feel pretty good.
