I bought this CD based on the Amazon reviews - and it is now one of my favorites.

this album is just blah, re-working a whole commercial reggae thang in no particular intriguing or original way.definitely nothing underground thats been dug up as any gem this one

5 out of 5 stars The most beautiful sound human voices have ever made.   May 4, 2008

Seriously, this one brings me to tears every time. This is art for the ages.

5 out of 5 stars People Listen up   April 2, 2008
great horse (georgia)
This is arguably the best Reggae record ever made. Seriously, me no make this stuff up. Row Fisherman Row starts it off and is a total bomb and it just keeps on going, song after song after song. Don't hesitate to pick this up. It's obscure and overlooked but it is Lee Perry at his finest and it don't get any better than that!!!

5 out of 5 stars an unassailable album in the perfect package   February 21, 2008
Carlos Castillo (San Diego)
As everyone else has pointed out, this is a must have roots reggae album. Don't settle for any version however, make certian to get this Blood and Fire package. The remastering is sublime, the bonus tracks are on a seperate disk so they don't tart up the original sequencing and the text and photos are great. If you settle for the download version you will be missing something wonderful, get this package before it goes out of print for good.
