4 out of 5 stars Mambo Sorpresa!   February 15, 2010
Michael B. (Chicago)
I've been going through my old CDs. I am hoping to retire soon and am seeing what I can jettison from my life.
I hadn't listened to this in many years and I expected to put it in the heap of" things to get rid of".
I really did not like the book, therefore I never saw the movie.

This music is GREAT! What was I thinking?

This really grabbed me. Check it out.

4 out of 5 stars great album w/ one exception   May 11, 2009
John A. Rinaldi (NYC)
I have to agree with all the other rave reviews but for one thing; at the end of the film, during the beginning of the credits, Celia Cruz reprises La Dicha Mia in a much more energized and improvisational way, but this song is not included on the album. A pity because it is one of my favorites.

5 out of 5 stars Beautiful Maria of My Soul   April 18, 2009

I bought this CD for this one song, offered in two versions. The English version by Los Lobos and the Spanish version sung by Antonio Banderas. The songs are as fresh today as when they were first released.

The other songs are great, too, but that one song is my favorite!

5 out of 5 stars My favorite soundtrack   October 9, 2008

I've been listening to this cd for fifteen years and it's still my favorite soundtrack. The music just makes you happy, and it's a great primer for all the all-stars of contemporary latin music.

5 out of 5 stars Cuba sunshine   May 18, 2008
Michelle Crepeau (quebec)
Beautiful song and rythme by Antonio Banderas, Celia Cruz, Tito Puente and Los Lobos.
If you love Cuban music, you will love this CD. This is my favorite.
