Awful - not user friendly March 21, 2010 Frank Divonzo I have already had to call Sansa tech support multiple times when #1 - I learned that the process for loading songs detailed in the instructions (click and drag) were incorrect, then #2 - after figuring out how to load songs into the GoList, that all my songs were placed in alphabetical order, thus screwing up all the work I had done to keep them in a preferred order (and to keep intros to songs with the songs when listed as separate tracks on CDs), and then #3 - when the tech walked me through how to create a playlist of my own to preserve the tracks in the order I desired, I learned that to add to that playlist, you essentially have to recreate the playlist on the computer, delete the existing playlist. and reload the new playlist. What a pain. And, switching between playlists and media while working out is not the easiest due to the configuration of the buttons. Only positives are the radio and the long battery life. Too bad Samsung does not make a higher memory capacity clip MP3. I still have the old one. Holds too few songs. Battery life is not as long. But, a thousand times easier to use than the Sansa clip, and sturdier.
tiny player with good sound March 20, 2010 zz Used this for about a month now. Sound is very good with a decent pair of headphones. Lossless format support is a bonus. I used Flac format a lot. Clip is convenient to attach it anywhere on your clothes. Battery life seems a little short, maybe because I ask it to decode Flac format most of the times. Doesn't support cue sheet so have to break tracks into separate files. It's a pity that no ape format support is included, maybe because it will consume even more battery power. Overall, a good tiny player with very good sound. Priced right too.
Surprisingly pleased March 19, 2010 S. Ressler (Clarksville, TN) I have to admit I was really hesitant on buying an mp3 player with a rechargeable battery, but I'm really happy with the Sansa Clip+. I bought it to replace a lost Creative Zen Nano (which I was really happy with and heartbroken over it's loss). The Clip+ is extremely portable, very light, and surprisingly durable. The 4gb is more than I'll ever need, but it's nice to be able to store all my music and the kid's music, as well.
I would've rated it 5 stars if it had a changeable battery. I absolutely hate rechargeables. It is easier for me to carry a spare AAA, than it is for me to remember to bring the car-charger I bought (I drive different vehicles, so I can't just leave the charger in a vehicle).
At first, the menu seemed a little cumbersome to navigate, but after playing with it intermittently for the first week, it's not so bad now. And there are several options for playback of loaded music, including by individual song folders, artists, album, songs, and even genre.
I was happy to learn that it stores the time, but unfortunately, the only way I can figure out how to see the time is by going through the menu as if you're going to change the settings. It's not the convenience I thought it was going to be. It would've been great if there was a quick option to view the time, but of course, that was not important enough to affect my rating.
Though it's been quite durable, it does feel awkward pressing on or around the screen in order to open the clip in the back; I'm always afraid the screen's going to crack.
I have not used the radio or voice recording functions, yet, so I cannot rate those features, and having only ever owned the no longer made Zen Nano, I have nothing to compare the Clip+ to, but overall, I am very pleased with the music features and playback and find those very worth the purchase.
Low Battery Life March 17, 2010 Bobby (LA, US) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The battery life for the sansa clip 4+ is not great. It has to be recharged quite requently.
I have bought the sansa clip 1gb and 2gb earlier and find their battery life to be much better than the battery life for the 4gb clip+
Great Player but the clip breaks easy,SanDisk will not replace March 17, 2010 Larry Asher 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love this little player but the clip breaks and is part of the player, San Disk will not replace without a big hassle.
The older players had a replaceable clip, this one does not.
