The Griffin 9501-TRIPCB is the most versatile iTrip to date, accommodating every dock connector iPod, including the iPod Nano and 5th-generation iPods videos. The iTrip Auto uses the audio line out from the iPod's dock connector and optimizes the output volume, allowing speaker volume to be controlled solely from the car stereo controls, without having to adjust the iPod's volume level. This unit features all the innovations of its predecessors, including selectable LX and DX modes for best-quality audio under real-world conditions, best-possible RF technology, and Griffin's world-class industrial design. The Griffin iTrip Auto is constructed with a built-in FM stereo antenna and a high-stability crystal oscillator with phase-lock loop control. This unit can operate anywhere from the 88.1 to 107.9 MHz frequencies, with a frequency response ranging from 50 Hz to 15 KHz, at a range from 10 to 30 feet. The 9501-TRIPCB is powered by an included 12-volt cigarette lighter power adapter that features an easily replaceable fuse through which it also charges your iPod. works great, sound quality is wonderful compared to what I've used in the past. It doesn't charge my itouch though. Have new itouch with software update and it says it doesn't charge with this item when i plug it in. oh well, at least it sounds good.

Real quick, just know the newer version hasn't worked well with my radio in a 2005 Ford Taurus. It pulses the sounds, the signal is goofed. This could be from having a faulty product, but I have never had a problem with this style. It's simple, works well, reliable, and has a great signal. Read up on posts about turning on "international mode" and running on 87.7, haven't had a single signal problem since. Recommend this one.

This is a very poor quality product. I have to hold it up in the air to get it nearer my car antenna to be able to make it work. Plus, it will not charge my iPod. It was a complete waste of money. After informing the seller of the problem I have had no contact from him. It looks like the entire process and product was s complete waste of money and time. It will wind up in my junk basket along with all of the other stuff. Don't waste your money on this one folks.

Can't beat the price ($15) and the international hack works great. I've set all my presets to 87.7 and it's crystal clear when not inside a metroplex. When in Dallas/Ft. Worth there is a little static from time to time, but still a huge improvement over searching for a open frequency.

Needed something simple and affordable and this was it! Followed instructions to turn it into INTL mode and never had any problems finding a free FM slot to listen to my ipod. Output sound was fine, especially since don't have a fancy car with a top notch sound system... any special gadgetry to create awesome sound would be a waste in my car. Works great!
