3 out of 5 stars Wait before buying these...   March 19, 2010
amazonbuyer
I purchased two of these in anticipation of the two pieces of Le Creuset that were in transit. The Le Creuset have been in my cupboards for two months and have had their "maiden voyages" on the stove and in the oven.

I have yet to replace the handles. I've actually decided that I am perfectly happy with the phenolic knobs. It hasn't been necessary to cook at heats higher than recommended for the phenolic knobs because of the heat conduction of the enamel and cast iron.

If I ever decide I need to go above the recommended temperatures, at that point I will replace the current ones. I hope if the day comes, that the replacement knobs will feel as secure. I would love to read a comment on that aspect.

5 out of 5 stars le creuset lid   March 7, 2010
Dean Sandbo (charlotte, NC)
I purchased this lid because the original black lid broke. They would've replaced the whole pot but I liked the color of my pot which is 15 years old. I love the stainless steal lid and it withstands heat up to 500 degrees. It looks good on the pot too!!

4 out of 5 stars Heat resistant, but hot   March 3, 2010
D. S. Wilson (Washington, DC)
This replaces the plastic lid knob that comes with the Le Creuset dutch oven. It lets you put the dutch oven into your own oven at temperatures above about 400 degrees F. The down side is that it gets hotter than the original plastic knob when you use the pot on your stovetop. That being said, you're probably going to use a potholder when using it on the stovetop, so why not use this and get the full range of temps in the oven?

5 out of 5 stars Fits Perfectly On Lodge Dutch Ovens   March 1, 2010
M. Lawson (Bristow, VA)
I puchased the knob to replace the plastic knob on my Lodge dutch oven to make it oven safe over 425 degrees.Lodge Enameled Cast-Iron 6-Quart Dutch Oven, Caribbean Blue It fit perfectly. Now I can safely make all the receipes from Elizabeth Yarnell's cookbook without worring about damaging my oven or dutch oven. 5 out of 5 stars WORTH THE PRICE!   February 28, 2010
Julie B. (Seattle, WA)
These replacement knobs look great, can take the heat, and even stay cool to the touch if the dutch oven has been simmering on the stove top. Feels great to know I can safely put them in the oven to whatever heat is required and they'll hold up.
