4 out of 5 stars Good product. Short screw.   November 12, 2009

A very well-made product, though pricey. Supplied mounting screw is too short for my Tramontina Dutch oven. Buy a #10-32x3/4" machine screw.

3 out of 5 stars A little hard to grip, but it works   November 11, 2009
Happy Mommy (TC, MI)
I actually got this to replace the knob that fell off my Martha Stewart dutch oven, which although it was not cheap, did come with the less-than-stellar plastic knob. It works just fine, but the shape makes it hard to grip when you're using a potholder, I think it could be a little bigger, and it's pretty smooth and slippery. I did not have any problems with screw length, but my lid may be thicker than the lid of the pot this handle is designed for.

4 out of 5 stars I agree - this should've been standard issue from the start   November 11, 2009

The 2" stainless steel knob fit my 6-3/4 oval oven perfectly with the included screw. It was a simple swap that took nothing more than a minute and a basic flat-head screwdriver. It will serve its' purpose well, now making the *whole* pot oven-safe to the temps that the manufacturer claims (which aren't possible with the phenolic/plastic knob that it comes with). I was suprised by how light it was, as it seems to be hollow, though it does seem to be sturdy enough that it won't dent/etc. My only gripe is the fact that I'm left feeling a bit nickel-and-dimed by having to come out of pocket another $10 on a piece of cookware that is already one of the most expensive in my kitchen, and the fact that without coming out of pocket the extra money the pot isn't truly oven-safe to the temps the manufacturer claimed in the first place!

5 out of 5 stars Great and Functional Enhancement   November 5, 2009
Richard Tabbutt (Woodinville, WA USA)
These new stainless steel knobs look great on our Le Creuset Dutch ovens, and they're also highly functional both on the stovetop and in the oven. Because they're hollow, they heat up very little on the stovetop, yet can withstand high oven temperatures (where they will get oven hot, so use a hot pad!). The price is right, too. And by the way, the screw length is just right; they tighten up perfectly snug.

5 out of 5 stars Fits like the original   November 2, 2009
P. Refsnider (Florida)
We bought our dutch oven while we were living in Ireland quite a few years ago. Actually, expected to pay a lot more for a knob that wasn't going to fit. Guess what? Decent price, and it fit perfectly with the original screw. Couldn't be more satisfied.
