All Clad Performance for half the price March 9, 2010 J. H. Erdsneker (Ossining, NY) After conducting hours of research on the web by visiting multiple cooking sites and then scouring my America's Test Kitchen magazines, I decided to give the Cuisinart MultiClad Pro pots a try. I couldn't justify the expense of the all-clad, but didn't want to buy a piece of junk. I have been very impressed with the high quality and performance of this pot. They are easy to clean with my barkeeper's friend, do a great job with sauces and are the perfect addition to any gourmet's cooking arsenal. Hoping my wife buys me the large stock pot for cooking lobsters (hint hint hint honey).
Delighted with it March 5, 2010 Opus22 (IA) Both my wife and I are delighted with this pan. Subsequently bought a 1 quart pan Cuisinart Contour Stainless 1 Quart Saucepan with Cover and it is great too. The 1 quart pan has a contour that makes it attractive and a cover that has a glass viewing area versus the all metal one on the 1 1/2 quart pan.
The 1 and 1 1/2 quart pans cover most of our small cooking needs. Both clean easily and do not have any discoloration, and one has been overheated greatly. This review after using them for over a month.
Totally happy with the purchase - price, quality, and functionality. And they look great too!
Definitely a class act! Has me thinking of getting rid of all pans for this series.
I love this pan! March 4, 2010 Darkenmoon (Chicago, IL) This pan is heavy and study. By heavy I do not mean that you will be huffing and puffing to take it from the sink to the oven. I do mean that it is thick and well constructed. I do mean that it's going to be harder to burn anything and you'll have to work some to make something burn.
I had expected this pan to be awesome after I read all the reviews in various places. This pan exceeded those expectations.
This pan conducts heat excellently so the lower flame is truly all you need for perfectly cooked food. It heats up quickly and cooks you food well. My meal was cooked very evenly all the way through. I don't feel it took longer to boil then my old crappy non-stick pans because it does conduct heat well. But I did boil it with the lid on to help it out a little.
People have compared these very favorably to all-clad. I've got to say, I whole heartedly agree. If you happen to have plenty of money to throw around on all-clad, then by all means. But if you have to be a bit more frugal but want similar quality, then go with this. It's awesome and I don't feel you lose any quality at all. Maybe you do, but despite the fact that I'm a quite experienced cook (although not a professional) I don't notice the difference at all.
I want to have more of these awesome pans. I'm working on a full set as they are wonderful and so gorgeous! Clean up is so easy with them.
Not So Stainless Steel February 26, 2010 G. Cornell The Good: I love the broad bottom of the 6 quart pot which makes it easy to sauté a lot of vegetables or brown a large batch of meat.
The Bad: The 3 quart pan feels much heavier than it is, because the handle does not help distribute the weight of the pan. The lip of both pans seems almost sharp, I would prefer the edges to be rounded smooth. Still all of the good things about these pans would outweigh the bad, if not for one problem.
The Ugly: These pans stain and are impossible to clean. The 6 quart pot has spots all over the bottom and boiling liquid in the pan leaves a thick ring around the inside at the water level. I noticed this after only one use, and it continues to happen after every use. At first I thought it was just our hard water leaving a mineral film on the pans after boiling, and maybe that is part of it, but then the 3 quart pan stained on the bottom from sautéing onions in butter. I have soaked and scrubbed these pans again and again, with little success. I suspect that some Bar Keeper's Friend would do the trick, but I do not think that I should have to buy a separate cleaning product specifically for these pans when none of my other stainless steel pans have ever given me any trouble.
Great Size February 24, 2010 For Ever Thrifty (DOVER, PA, US) This beautiful Cuisinart 1-1/2 qt.saucepan, is the perfect fit for our needs.
It is the most used saucepan in our kitchen. It is so well made, and holds the heat evenly, and the stainless steal is very easy to clean.
