This is the type of roast my mother used. I debated, at first whether to spend extra money on a higher brand, but I'm glad I chose this one. It's prefect for medium to large turkeys. Just remember, for larger turkeys, you might need to cover the turkey with aluminum foil or tie down the wings and legs, until the turkey has time to cook. Otherwise the lid might pop off since it doesn't have a locking feature. This happened to me, but I caught it in time so that the turkey didn't dry out. This roaster made my turkey tender and moist. Pretty color too!

This round roaster is the perfect size for an old Lithuanian family recipe for kugel (or kugele) which is a baked "potato pudding," requiring 5 pounds of potatoes plus other ingredients. I measured the one I personally own and tried to find it in local stores without success and was extremely pleased to find it at Amazon.com. I plan to give one to each of my sons so that the recipe can be handed down in the family. (I had no daughters.) The quality is, of course, what one would expect from the Graniteware company. Thank you!
