 Calphalon One is Always a Good Choice February 12, 2010

I have several pieces of Calphalon One and love the line. My pieces are mixed, some non stick and others original and each has its merit.
This pot is wonderful to work in. It is great for big pots of soup as well as our special Gumbo, my favorite is smoked turkey with okra, tasso, andoulle, smoked sausage. The only thing I can fault is the weight of the pot. Though it performs well, I would prefer a little more weight, a little thicker guage metal. This is a personal preference even though the pot performs well.
I have purchased several from this line and I am sure will buy more. The fritatta pan is in my sights but will have to wait a little while.

I absolutely LOVE this pot. I've used it twice. First for a wonderful pot roast, searing meat first, cooking meat in Lipton Onion Soup for three hours and adding veggies last. Wonderful. Secondly for the most heavenly pot of our special recipe chili. Sweet perfection. Oh, and getting the wonderful potholder (which you don't even need with this pot), the great wooden spoon and the kitchen towel was a bonus. I only buy Calphalon and had been considering the cast iron enamel dutch oven, but because of my past experience with Le Creuset, I thought it would be way too heavy and hard to handle for me. I highly recommend this wonderful pot and lid with the cool to touch handles. And as always, Calphalon is easy to clean.
