5 out of 5 stars Very good machine   March 7, 2010
John P. Ahrens (Humboldt, TN)
Have had good results with recipes included in the instruction book. I also own another electric pressure cooker--the Wolfgang Puck--and it works well too, but the Cuisinart seems to be a bit better engineered and constructed though the actual operation of the Cuisinart is not very intuitive. You will need to read the manual carefully to set up a project. All in all--well worth the money.

4 out of 5 stars great cookware   February 23, 2010

I used to cook with a classic pressure cooker which does not work with my new induction cooktop.
Also , we turned to solar power that makes the new pressure cooker virtually free, powerwise.
It is easy to use and clean, fast. A little heavy to move and there is no way to put it away, unless you have huge cabinets. So , it has to stay on the counter.
It is great to cook ham and pea soup, artichokes, chile.
I have not tried yet pasta sauce or brown rice which is time consuming on the stove.
This is a very good buy.

I saw a recommendation of this product in the food section of our local paper & since I have enjoyed cooking "under pressure" before decided to give this a try. I did have to read the manual closely but after doing so I am finding the cooker very easy to use. Just follow the recipe, lock the top, select the pressure level & time & let it take care of the rest! I love it! Lentil soup in under 15 minutes & Blueberry Bread Pudding! After tasting the bread pudding my husband said "I've died & gone to heaven!" When cooking with other manual pressure cookers I felt that I had to stay very close & constantly watch the process. With this I can enjoy other activities around the house without a worry! I was trying to figure out where to store it but it has been on the counter for the past three weeks as I use it every week end. I would recommend looking for a few pressure cooker cookbooks until you get the hang of this method of cooking & there are more out there than you might think. Lorna Sass has several good ones as do Toula Patsalis & Miss Vickie.

5 out of 5 stars Magic pot   February 14, 2010

This is excellent. I just bought this a few days ago and its working magic for me. My white rice was cooked perfect in 3 minutes.. Of course it does take some more time for the cooker to build and release pressure.. but i think its still quicker than a conventional cooker. My lentils (yellow indian Dhaal) was completely cooked in 18 minutes, something i always had trouble dealing with other cookers.. And whats more.. you don't have to worry about switching off the appliance in time unlike ur conventional cooker.. happy cooking with cuisinart..
