Product Description Cuisinart is pleased to offer an exciting new variety of specialty pieces of Chef's Classic Stainless Cookware that make everyday cooking tasks a pleasure. Indespensable for family dinners and holiday celebrations, the Roaster holds turkeys, chickens, and large roasts. Wide riveted stainless handles make carrying the Roaster safe and easy. A stainless rack lets heat circulate and meat or poultry drain as it cooks. The polished stainless interior won't alter food or flavors, so sauces and gravies can be prepared right in the Roaster. Classic lines and a gleaming mirror finish make this an elegant serving piece. Oven safe to 550 Degrees F.

I bought this item as a gift. Iwas very pleased that it was as described and as nice as I expected it to be. I don't as my daughter has had an opportunity to use it yet. She was pleased with it.
Clarifying Aluminum Base Controversy and Rec for Oven Space Issue April 8, 2009 T. Pham (Seattle, WA) 16 out of 17 found this review helpful
America's Test Kitchen, in their 2008 review of this roasting pan states that the pan has an encapsulated aluminum base. Since America's Test Kitchen is known for its diligence for researching and testing kitchen products, I was surprised to see that some of the reviews on Amazon.com stating the contrary.
Thus, I went to the Cuisinart website, and the short product info list does not list this feature for the roasting pan (vs other pans in the Chef Classic Stainless Steel line). However, when I called Cuisinart product information line (1-800-726-0190), I was told that this particular roasting pan does have an encapsulated aluminum base.
So bottom line, Amazon product information and America Test Kitchen (ATK) review is correct.
For those that have smaller oven, check out Calphalon Contemporary Stainless Special-Value 16-Inch Roaster with Nonstick Roasting Rack, which is the top recommended choice from ATK. (This product was the #2 choice.)
works great, easy to clean March 20, 2008 J. L. Seman (Reading, VT USA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I am very happy with this roasting pan. I agree with the other reviewers: it is on the larger side (with the handles it is more like 20 + inches long, not 16) but it fits in my oven just fine. I've found that it is sturdy and distributes heat evenly. And it's easy to clean, too. Definitely recommended.
Pleased with Cuisinart Roasting Pan January 23, 2008 Karon Kardatzke (Indiana) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful

Everyone should have one, this one is the best !!! January 17, 2008 Christopher Macmillan (sunny tampa bay florida) 7 out of 10 found this review helpful
I have so many pans, and pots, yet for a long time I resisted getting this roaster. So many of the Food Network Host's use this type of pan I felt perhaps I was behind in time. I purchased this roaster and have used it several times now. Quite honestly I found this pan useful and logical for cooking large meats that you are roasting. Rib Roast's, Turkey's, Ham's all cook well in this pan.
