Nothing is better October 17, 2009 D. Olson (Flagstaff, Arizona United States) I have bought and used many different types of cookware over the years, and Le Creuset, without a doubt, is the easiest and best by far. With only the exception of a good omelette pan (and I may replace that with a Le Crueset Cast Iron Satin Black Interior Omelette Pan), everything I now use is Le Creuset. Yes, they are expensive, but they will last several lifetimes, make cooking more of a pleasure, and make it much, much easier to produce good dishes. This 2-quart pot is one of the most frequently used in my home as it is the most versatile, and yes, it can take a 450 degree Fahrenheit oven for those one-pot recipes. My only regret is that I didn't pick up more Le Creuset in the past when there was a good deal. Even at full retail, they're worth it.
I LOVE IT, I LOVE, I LOVE IT February 24, 2009 Canthespam (San Francisco, CA) OK, so now you know I love it. Not only is it cute looking (not a top priority, but it helps), but it is easy to clean, and cooks to perfection. It works beautifully for smaller recipes, especially the " Glorious One-Pot Meals" by Elizabeth Yarnell. It is the pot that she uses in all of her 2 serving recipes. Good price and hard size to find in stores - most are sold online.
My first Le Creuset November 22, 2008 kdea473 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This was my first Le Creuset purchase. I have spent the better part of the past ten years purchasing items for my kitchen but had not yet purchased any Le Creuset. I prefer to wait until I can afford quality items, so had not bought any cheap immitations.
I have been immensely satisfied with this purchase...definitely worth the extra expense. I love the heft of the item and it works very well on my glass cooktop. It still looks perfectly new, so I expect that it will last indefinitely.
I look forward to continuing to build my collection. So far, I am a highly satisfied Le Creuset customer.

I've seen a lot of the TV chefs use enameled cast iron. They are expensive but well worth it. Of course many of those chefs on the Food Network, and Marth Stewart have their own knock-offs. I cheated. I found my small round French while cleaning out my grandmother's apartment. When she was alive, I don't recall seeing her use it. None of my relatives wanted it, so I took it home.
It's great for two people or for cooking side dishes. My wife and I make everything from rice, to soup, to pasta, to sauce, etc. We have a much bigger Martha one, which works well, but not as good as the real McCoy. We use that for stews, turkey breast, large chickens, etc. When our budget permits, we will upgrade to all Le Creuset.
As others have mentioned, this cookware lasts a long time. So in reality it's not that expensive if you amortize it over time. You'll go through a lot of cheap aluminum or stainless cookware before you go through Le Creuset.
Not that this matters, but mine is actually flame orange.

Love it! It is pretty to look at and even prettier to clean. Never have had a problem cleaning it. Cooks fast and evenly. I would love to have one in every size and color (need to win the lottery first). You won't regret this purchase!
