Product Description
Essential tool for campers when cooking in a camp dutch oven. The "T" bar design comes in handy when moving the dutch ovens from fire to table. High temperature black finish.

5 out of 5 stars Lid lifter review   March 11, 2010
J. Burgin (Hill Country, Texas)
I am very happy with the overall purchasing experience in getting a Dutch Oven lid lifter from Amazon. I priced the same item at name brand outdoor stores and got this one from Amazon at about $10 less for the very same thing. I am very happy with the product.

5 out of 5 stars Must have!!!   January 27, 2010

There is no better way to lift dutch oven lids than with this lifter. It is made be the industry standard Lodge company that has been around for years and know what they are doing. Extremely easy to use and very effective!!!

5 out of 5 stars Works great! I like better than the clamp style. Great fire poker!   October 8, 2009
John Schultz (Illinois)
The clamp style has the problem of accidental early release. Even if you let your grip loosen a little bit the lid will jerk or slip resulting in ash in the food or a dropped lid. This style of lifter works better for me. It feels more natural. actually the problem with ash should be a non-issue with either lifter. Anyone who does a lot of camp dutch oven cooking owns a small whisk broom to take care of the ash before lifting the lid. Now that we are on the subject of ash in your food I thought I would mention dirt in the food. If you do not own the "Cast Iron Dutch Oven Folding Lid Holder Stand" you will have to come up with a solution to keep the earth from entering your food. In the past I have place the lid on a Newspaper, Coffee can, Whisk broom, picnic table, camp chair, hood of car, fire ring, shirt and have propped it up against trees thinking to my self there has got to be a better way. Alas the Dutch Oven Folding Lid Holder Stand! It's less than 10 buc ks here on amazon (12 at cabela's) and is the best cast iron addition I own.

Back to the item at hand. It works great! It also makes a great fire poker!

4 out of 5 stars Help with hot hands   October 7, 2009

I love the idea of getting away from the heat with this product. I thought it would be a little longer. Wish it was. But love the lifter over all.

5 out of 5 stars A dutch oven essential   July 25, 2009
Ellen G. Beeman (Seattle, WA)
If you're cooking in a dutch oven over charcoal, you want this lid lifter! Yes, it's a little expensive, but it's an essential tool for outdoor dutch oven cookery.
