| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description This may seem like a bizarre cooking method initially, but it results in perfect, thin, delicate crepes. Simply invert the non-stick hot plate into the batter (dipping plate included), then turn it right sight up and set it on the table. In a few moments you have enviable crepes which peel easily off the hot plate.
Amazon.com Review Quicker and easier to use than a skillet, this 900-watt electric appliance simplifies the cooking of crepes and blintzes, making it foolproof. The 7-1/2-inch-diameter cooking surface is coated with nonstick material and is slightly convex. Dipping it into crepe batter coats it uniformly. Inverting the appliance and setting it on a counter (or dining table, for festive occasions) allows the crepe to cook, while the rubber feet protect the counter. The user then simply peels off the crepe. An automatic thermostat heats the cooking surface to the proper temperature, and a light signals when it's time to cook. The crepe maker, which features a stay-cool plastic handle, is accompanied by a plastic dishwasher-safe dipping plate to hold the batter. The crepe maker's instruction booklet contains recipes for various crepes and for blintzes. --Fred Brack

Crepes! February 25, 2010 Lazy Mermaid (The City of Destiny) I have always loved crepes and when my friend made me some crepes on her VillaWare crepe maker I just had to get one. I really love the style of this maker because it's a lot easier for someone like me (amateur cook) to make consistent crepes with rather than with the crepe makers where you pour the batter on. Also, as I am currently living in a dorm room, it's super easy to store and use with my limited space. Admittedly I haven't had it very long so I can't comment on the durability of this product, nor can I compare it to other brands as this is the first I've ever owned, but overall I'd say if you want to make crepes and have super spectacular crepe parties with all your friends, then go for it!
Villaware Crepe Maker February 24, 2010 C. Kimball (California) The crepe maker works well, I used a glass pie plate to hold the batter -- only one small complaint, when I sent in the warrenty card it was returned marked not at this address - return to sender --- ???????? But the crepes are the best !
crepes the easier way February 15, 2010 N. Black (San Antonio, Texas) Making crepes is a family affair in our house. Everyone likes to take a turn at making a few and we all stand around and eat them right off the crepe maker. It's fast and we fill them with a variety of items depending upon the time of day that we decide to "make crepes." Breakfast is our favorite because we fill the crepes with an assortment of breakfast items----jams, cream cheese, butter and cinnamon sugar, as well as scrambled eggs, sausage mixtures, or salmon. Occasionally, we decide to have them for supper and fill them with chicken or mushrooms and cover them with one of our favorite sauces. This is so much easier than the old fashioned way of making crepes. The crepe maker maintains an even heat and the surface is truly non-stick. I prefer putting the batter in a large ceramic plate and refilling the plate as needed. The only negative comment is that hot butter on the side of the maker caused the name of the company to wipe off. I'm sure VillaWare would prefer that the name stay neatly visible on this fun appliance.
