Norpro's vertical poultry roaster is designed to allow fats to drip off your chicken or other poultry as it cooks, leaving only juicy, flavorful, lower-fat meat. The deep drip tray collects the fat so that it doesn't coat your oven, although putting a baking sheet under the roaster is advisable for larger birds. The vertical roaster promotes even cooking, since all sides are exposed to the oven's heat. This configuration also makes the skin exceptionally crispy, a feature which will be lost on those who discard the skin for health reasons The drip tray and rack are both made of stainless steel, which conducts heat quickly and evenly. --Julija Gelazis

My family loves roasted chicken and I try to make it often. I wanted this product so that I could roast the chicken in a way that would cook it evenly and not sit in the fatty drippings. I've used this several times and have been very pleased with the results! Chicken comes out perfect every time! I wish I had bought this product sooner!

I've owned this for two years now and use it weekly.
It remains as good as new, is easy to use and clean, and cooks Perfect roast chicken. At $12, its a steal.
I owned a "teflon coated" product prior to this, but the coating quickly fell off and it became difficult to use and clean.
While this suits me perfectly, You will need to place it in another pan to catch the excess splatering fat. But I'd rather do that than have a more cumbersome and difficult to clean alternative. I cook 3 lb chickens and the pan holds all the drippings. I assmue If I were to cook 5 lb roasters, it might not be large enough.

I bought this to replace the rusting one I bought years ago. The drip pan is a bit smaller than my old one and I was concerned about it being a bit top heavy if I tried to cook a large bird with it. I didn`t have any problems but I made sure the wings were tied back and a baking pan was underneath it as well. Clean-up was a snap!!
