Product Description "The ALL AMERICAN Heavy Cast Aluminum Pressure Cooker Canner is the Model 921 and has a 21.5 quart liquid capacity. We are an authorized All-American pressure cooker distributor. This cooker retails for over $234 and comes with the standard manufacturers 1-Year Warranty. Ready to can your favorite fish, meat, vegetables and fruits. Only All-American Pressure Cookers / Canners feature and exclusive, precision machined "metal-to-metal" sealing system. Positive action clamping locks align the cover to the base, forming a steam-tight seal. At the same time, this metal-to-metal seal automatically permits venting under unusual pressure conditions, providing an extra margin of safety over conventional rubber or gasketed cookers. These pressure cookers have been made since 1930 and there are several million in service all over the world. Includes all standard accessories, literature and instructions. This is a professional grade pressure cooker and is perfect for all your canning and pressure cooking needs. "
Amazon.com Review This heavy-duty pressure cooker's large capacity is probably best utilized for canning (though it would also be great for a number of cooking tasks). A pressure cooker is generally recommended when canning vegetables and nonacid fruit, since the high heat that can be generated will kill more bacteria than a regular hot water bath. Made from cast aluminum, with sturdy screws to seal the lid to the pot, this pressure cooker requires no rubber or plastic gaskets or rings. Its 21-1/2-quart capacity holds 19 pint jars or 7 quart jars. A three-setting pressure regulator valve is included, and the pressure gauge gives a clear reading. Made in Wisconsin, this is an American classic. --Julija Gelazis

Just read the instructions November 19, 2009 Debra Stoltenberg (Olympic Peninsula) This is a great size for canning. My husband does the fish canning and he loves it because he could can 16 pints at one time and when you are doing 100 lbs of fish at a time it went fast.
Just be sure and put vaseline around the lid each time you use it we only did it the first time and it would stick each time if you did not put the lubricant on. Overall the price is a little high but it is a great way to can fast.
I was very lucky when I got this canner . . . November 16, 2009 One Tree in the Forest (Del Rio, Tennessee, USA) I have has this canner for about 20 years and it was far from new when I got it. I had always wanted a pressure canner, and doing research on them back then (before the internet) was not easy. I saw "pressure canner and jars for sale" in a local "Penny Saver" type of paper. I used it for several years and then a friend of mine moved to a retirement community and gave me her pressure canner. That is when I learned that ALL-AMERICAN is THE one to get. Hers has a gasket and there are actually times I have had to ask my husband to open it (oiling theh gasket as the ifafter I have processed a load of food. I only use that one when I have so much food to process that I am using both canners. The ALL-AMERICAN is so safe, and so simple. Plus they continue to be thicker than many other pressure canners (compare the weight against the 23 qt. Presto for instance). If you are serious about canning then get this serious canner. And, you don't need to buy an enameled water bath canner if you have this because you can use it without pressure too--using steam which is easier and safer than having to deal with a large pot of boiling on top of a stove.
Great Purchase November 15, 2009 Roland K. Takayama (Santa Barbara, CA) Love this cooker. It pressurizes quickly and reliably, has lots of room for my purpose. I've canned green beans and albacore tuna so far, and I love it. I was a little concerned about the lack of a gasket, but that was also a selling point. Other than the extra effort needed to ensure the lid is level on the cooker, gasket-less pressur cookers are the way to go. My previous cooker did not have a pressure gauge. It is an advantage being able to monitor the pressure, I don't know how I canned without one all these years.
Canning November 14, 2009 D. Cliborne (Moncks Corner, SC) I really like this canner - I had a hard time getting the lid off and had to call the help number, but the level stays where you set it and did a great job. Very heavy duty.
Great canner November 11, 2009 Carol F. Ellis (Lehi, UT) I reviewed the previous comments, but my experience with the canner has been nothing but positive. The fit is very good, mindful of the need to lubricate the metal to metal joints. The canner works very tight, meaning that there is very little excess water lost out of it during the canning process. It is heavy, so I don't let my wife pick it up, but I knew that when I bought it. Being able to work with a high quality tool without having to worry about a gasket makes pressure canning very enjoyable.
