5 out of 5 stars Game not given a chance   December 7, 2009

Look. The game is getting a lot of bad reviews because it was free and frankly people who never play adventure games and games that don't require thought play it.

They get confused. Angry. Give it the worst rating.

It has some graphic issues on low end machines. I have a laptop and it worked fine. A couple of hours of work even for an experience adventure gamer. It is solvable. Interesting situations with a dog and a human. Creative, funny.

If you like Wallace and Gromit it is worth getting. If you like adventure games and games that make you think it was worth it. The price for the entire season right now is extremely low. It is cheaper and better than a movie.

5 out of 5 stars Great game, don't listen to the negative reviews   November 11, 2009

I couldn't help but notice how this game has been getting quite a few negative reviews here... and all of them are based on ignorance.
You'll notice the majority of them gave the game a low rating simply because the users in question couldn't get the game to run - this is a ridiculous reason to give a game a one star rating. Especially since the game is no more hassle to get up and running than any other PC game out there... it works perfectly as long as your computer isn't completely outdated.

The game is highly playable, great storyline and well worthy of the W&G license.

If I have one complaint, it's how the game forces you to use the keyboard (or gamepad) to move the characters.
I feel the tried and tested point & click method is the best way to play an adventure game... but this is only a minor complaint.
Don't get me wrong - the controls work very well for what they are, and most gamers these days expect to use WASD for movement anyway.

Anyway, the bottom line is - this is a great game and Telltale (the creators of this and several other similar games) are making a fantastic contribution to reviving the adventure game genre.

4 out of 5 stars Almost like a new W&G film   November 11, 2009

I got this game for free via a Telltale promotion (that is still ongoing, as of this date). It's a wonderful game, and I think that Wallace & Gromit fans and fans of adventure games will like it. It's almost as good as a new short film. The voice acting ranges from good to great (my favourites were Wallace and the retired Major). The script is quite funny. The music is fantastic. The puzzles are logical. Every single review from a professional game reviewer I've seen has been positive. In fact, the reviews at adventure gaming sites have been complaining that it's a bit too easy.

I'm baffled by all the 1-star reviews here. The default video quality was indeed too much to handle for my computer, but it can be changed in the main menu. The control scheme is very simple. There's even an in-game tutorial for people who've never played a game like this before.

Maybe the main issue here is that people who dislike thinking shouldn't be playing adventure games. This is the type of game where you must turn your brain ON. Some of us enjoy that.

5 out of 5 stars Don't rate it badly because your machines suck.   November 10, 2009

This game is very enjoyable & deserves much more than to be rated 1 star consistantly because either can't grasp the concept of point & click adventure games or because there PC is not strong enough to run it. Here is a tip for those of you having problems.... go to the options menu & lower the graphics quality, there is hardly any noticable differences & it will cause your game to run MUCH faster. If you are having any further trouble just go to Telltale's website & click on support. I guarantee that they will solve any problem that you may be experiencing.

1 out of 5 stars No dice   November 10, 2009

After a big download and a quick install, no dice. It didn't work. I tried starting the game and nothing happened. Running on a Win XP virtual machine on a MacBook Pro (using Parallels 5.0). So far this is the only Windows program that I have found that doesn't run. At least the uninstall went without a hitch!
