Entertaining, easy-to-follow simulation for all ages December 1, 2008 GUILLERMO MADURO-VAZQUEZ (Atlanta, GA) PROS - Easy to play. Uncomplicated game play makes it enjoyable. If you want to make it in the chocolate world, though, you'll have to organize your sources and production pretty quickly. - Simple interface. The graphics are in the cartoonish style prevalent in mystery PC games. - Fluid game play. Whether in "story" or "free play" mode, the user is in control of all decisions. - AI makes pricing strategies and tactics more realistic. - Price. We stole it at Toys'R'Us for US$5.00...! - International approach is very appealing to the younger audience. - Addictive. Once you start making dark chocolate squares, get ready for prime time! CONS - Contents in general are geared to a younger audience and are not as attractive to adults. The subject matter lends itself to more info and photography, but very little of the first and none of the second are available. The focus is clearly more on entertainment and game play than education. - The method of setting weekly production quotas is unsophisticated and repetitive. At least it takes the gamer out of the travel routine, but....
LOVE this game...but if you own a Mac, you may not be able to win it... October 25, 2008 Mizzzlizzz (Clarksville, TN) This game, true to the reviews, is a lot of fun. I am not a big "gamer," and I own a Macbook, so it's difficult anyway to find games in my platform, since it seems most games are made for Windows. I love strategy games, and I love chocolate, so this was a great choice! It has a somewhat "Carmen Sandiego" feel I remember from elementary school, in the sense you get to travel around the globe finding characters and delivering their orders. It doesn't require a lot of strategy or smarts, but it still is fun to play. However, when I attempted to make a raspberry chocolate concoction, the game closed out and I got a reported error. In the recipe book, it shows you the different ingredients you need, and the picture of the dish was invisible, so it may not have loaded properly. I'm not sure if there is a glitch in my particular disk, so I will delete the current copy on my computer and start over. You can still play up until that point (and you get very far), but you cannot win without making and selling that particular product. On the upside, however, there is a freeplay mode, so even if I can't "win" the game, I can still play. Great game overall.
Chocolatier game review October 21, 2008 Timothy M. Harrigan (Ohio, USA) Oh I LOVED playing this online, BUT I only could play the 1hour trial, so I bought the game, LOVE IT! Addicting!! I think I beat it in 2 sittings! LOL
chocolatier October 5, 2008 serious gammer i have 1 and 2 and love them both.although i beat mine in one day,its still fun to keep playing to see how much money i can earn weekly.or start me a new fle and beat it again.its a fun game to keep playing or play over and over.its a game for all ages!
Choclatier Review July 6, 2008 Game Lover Well this game was ok, I enjoyed the fact that you had to try and find all these recipes from different people and different places. However it just seem to be a lil dull after awhile. I will probably still play Chocolatier 2 just to see if its any better.
