1 out of 5 stars Wheel of Misfortune.....   November 12, 2008
Matt Tawesson (Macomb, IL, USA)
I purchased this at my local Wal-Mart for nearly $20.00. I had thought it would be ready to play within several minutes after loading the CD in the CD drive and installing the game. But after the icon was added to the desktop after download, and I would double click on the icon to start the game, I would get the famous audience chant, and the new version of the show's theme...with a black screen!!! I tried everything to get the game running properly: defragmenting the computer, turning off the pop-up blockers, etc., but a black screen remained. My mother and I could not figure out what the problem was. What I got was a dud. I had followed the installation instructions. Could anyone please tell me what I had forgotten to do, and how to eliminate the black screen??? I will just have to resort to getting a back version of the game for my computer or download free trials from the Wheel of Fortune's web page.

5 out of 5 stars Really Great Game   September 5, 2008
D. Bell (Wappapello, MO USA)
I can't believe no one has posted a review about this game yet. I was so excited when I got my new notebook to see HP had their own Wheel of Fortune installed. I got to play a trial, and loving WoF I decided to buy it. Big mistake. After purchasing it, it would give me the same 6 puzzles over and over again - never giving any new ones. I couldn't even find a place to download new puzzles. $20 down the drain right there.

I was at Wal Mart a few months ago and see WoF Deluxe. I was thinking if I should buy it or not after my last purchase of the game from HP's site. But it said it included over 2000 puzzles so I decided to get it. It was also $20. Wow. The Deluxe is so much better and fun to play. Family members and I play it all the time. We all have our own characters for when we play against each other! It has given a few puzzles more than once, and I'm sure we haven't went through all 2000 yet, but it's still giving out new puzzles with the exception of those few times!

4 out of 5 stars game is fun - easy to play   July 14, 2008

This game is fun. No problem for me to install on windows xp.

You can play solo, or in any combo of up to 3 humans and/or computer persons. If playing with 3 humans, the keyboard can get a little crowded tho, as both control keys and the spacebar are the "buzzers".

If you have played the earlier versions, this game is not slowed down by all the Vanna scenes. If you are a Vanna fan, note that she nor a host is present in this version. I'm fine with it as the game moves faster.
I've been playing for a couple days and have never seen a duplicate puzzle.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty decent for family   June 28, 2008

Doesn't have Pat or Vanna or the theme song (I think?) but still not a bad game, especially since you can have a few people play it at the same time.

5 out of 5 stars Our favorite computer game!   June 24, 2008

We love playing this as a family. I like that it makes you think. My son loves the characters that you choose for yourself. We have great fun with this!

Mind you, the graphics aren't great--the people kind of jerk around a little. But we are in it for the game.
