1 out of 5 stars "You've gotta be joking.....RIGHT ???"   November 10, 2008

My wife purchased this game for me because she knows i enjoy "SCI-FI",
but what a complete waste !!!
I can't comment on any aspect of the game due to :
1) "Invalid Code" message when attempting to install this game using a
newly created "Steam Account".
2) Requested a "Activation Code Reset" sent via email to steam and got no
reply.
Well, that's enough for me. Like i said neither my wife nor i had any idea
that you have to even have an account to install this game,as i mentioned
it was a gift. No great loss though on my part because :
A) My wife is only out $10(yes it was purchased used but who knew "Steams"
policy on Used game activation since neither my wife nor i play online games...period.)
B) Although i do enjoy SCI-FI , I'm not a real fan of shooters anyway (1st or 3rd)person.
WARNING:FOR THOSE THINKING OF PURCHASING THIS GAME,READ AMAZON REVIEWS FIRST BEFORE YOU PURCHASE.YES IT DOES HAVE A SINGLE PLAYER MODE, BUT YOU
CANNOT PLAY IT OFFLINE!!!If i could give it a(0), i would.

3 out of 5 stars hard to run   November 3, 2008

This is a great game, but if your Computer can't run it look elsewhere, i'd advise taking a few second looks at the requirements because your computer had better have a great grahpics card and processor if you wanna get anywhere with this.

5 out of 5 stars awesome game   October 9, 2008

Great game play with an X-box controller for windows. It had totally acceptable frame rates almost all of the time with my system (athlon x2 4400+, ATI hd3870, 4G ram, Vista). most of the hick-ups where during the "movie" scenes which render in glorious detail. The game play itself was seamless, immersible, challenging and had great replay value.
Love it.

2 out of 5 stars Unplayable on PC   July 12, 2008

I though the label "games for windows" meant something. Guess MS will put there name on anything.

There is a reason this game is selling used for $[...]. It's unplayable due to the horrable job Capcom did with porting the controls and the mind numbing lag that makes playing it on hard a waste of time.

Next time someone wants to port a so so Xbox game on to the PC I think they should have to prove they played it through them selves first.

2 out of 5 stars Lost Planet is lost time   July 10, 2008
Bernard Clemmons III (Nashville, TN)
This game was a horror. I had played Assassin's Creed and Gears of War just before getting this and decided that maybe the Xbox Ports weren't so bad after all, than I installed Lost Planet. The Gameplay is uninspired, with run of the mill weapons and a senseless storyline with poor dialog and passable voice acting. The graphics are a joke, I ran Gears full blast on my system and it was beautiful. This game looked like it was an entire generation behind, it barely provided Quake 2 level visuals. Level design was almost interesting because of the grapnel that you carried, but otherwise suffered from the limited graphics and anemic game play.

Overall the game was a huge disappointment and once again I will have to consider carefully before I purchase another game ported from a console. I thought we had gotten past that but I guess not.
