Product Description
The Trinitario is a hybrid between Criollos and Forasteros. Its name is due to the crosses achieved on the island of Trinidad, where four centuries ago the Spanish cultivated Criollos. The plantations were destroyed by a cyclone and were replanted with Forasteros. Spontaneous hybrids soon formed with the Criollos that had survived the catastrophe. Generally, they are excellent cocoas that have replaced the Criollos thanks to their greater strength. It is estimated that between 10 and 15 % of world production is Trinitario, a variety that brings together the best of the other two.
